It was around 1998 when I decided I was going to venture into the world analog delays. I searched around online and found some selling a Boss DM-2 on the old Harmony-Central message board. It was love at first listen. Nothing digital emulates the sound of an analog delay. Certainly delay time is limited and there is some distortion, but it's a musical distortion. Something you can't quite simulate in digital gear.
The HBAD is based on Scott Swartz wonderful AD 3208 circuit. It's a simple bucket brigade design used in the classic DM-2, DM-3 and Ibanez CD-10. I used the second generation DM-2 design incorporating two MN3205 bucket brigade IC's controlled by a MN3202 clock driver. This gives the delay a higher quality signal, but a shorter delay time (about 480 ms). Surfs up!

Introducing the HB76! A great DIY project based on the classic UREI 1176 FET compressor.
Built in the tradition of the classic Boss DM series, the HBAD is a true analog "Bucket Brigade" delay circuit.
Grab your vodka and vareniky! The HBBF is a reproduction of the 70's era Big Muff Pi.
