Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global economy, the cost of raw materials and labor has increased drastically since 2020. In the past, we have absorbed the increasing cost associated with our kits, and kit pricing has remained stable for the past 10 years. However, the current rise in costs is intense, we can no longer absorb these cost increases and continue to realistically operate.
This surge in cost has seen our parts cost rise by a minimum of 20%. Many of our custom parts have increased by over 50%. We’ve been hit particularly hard in our metalwork and transformer supply chain, components which account for the highest costs in our kits.
To stay committed to supplying you with the highest quality kits and parts, a value that lies at the core of Hairball Audio, I am increasing the prices of our kits. I refuse to allow our quality to suffer and I still believe our retail markup is far below the industry standard.
